Janet McDougall’s Artwork
As a potter, Janet enjoys both handbuilding and wheel-work. She works principally with stoneware and has enjoyed brief journeys in playing with Raku. In all of her work, she is inspired by the ruggedly beautiful natural surroundings in the heart of the Kawartha Lakes Region. Her home and studio are nestled in a wooded area at the edge of the Canadian Shield. She finds that her daily walks through the woods are an endless source of inspiration; wildlife, colour, texture, interesting roots and vines and the play of light through the trees.
Janet’s work is continually growing and changing as she strives to make each piece unique, allowing the clay and her creative spirit to guide her.
